皆さん, こんにちは! Minasan, konnichiwa! Hello everyone! 🌸
The nature of Kyoto, or Japan in general, has something to offer in every season. Currently, the plum trees are blooming here, which is why I went with a few friends to do Ume-Hanami, seeing the plum blossoms. 👀
We met at Kitano Tenman-gu, a very popular spot at that time because there are some plum trees here. 🌳
That is why the shrine was well attended, but still not too crowded. Since all my companions (Kabya, Tala and Anirban) love to take pictures, they were able to capture some good pictures of the flowers. Here are a few insights on my part:
Later we went to another shrine, but unfortunately, the flowering period was already over there because it is only very short. Since we were planning to catch the sunset at Kiyomizu-Dera anyway, we ended the Ume-Hanami here and left for the Kyoto station to fortify ourselves with a pizza before sunset. 🍕
When we arrived at Kiyomizu-Dera, we wanted to avoid the crowds that are gathering on the street leading to the temple, Sannenzaka, and so we walked along a side street. It was empty and led past a cemetery where we found a good place to catch the sunset.
Shortly before the closure, we also took a look at the Kiyomizu-Dera and were able to find a few Ume trees here as well. I think the late afternoon is a good time to visit the Kiyomizu-Dera because the crowds are getting smaller. The lighting conditions are no longer the best, but you can still enjoy a good view of the city and take some nice photos. 😉
In any case, today was a lot about photos. So our next stop was a well-known photo spot as well: the Yasaka Pagoda. Definitely a sight that is worth to be seen at night! 😉
Before that, however, we had a small snack: the famous Matcha Tiramisu. If you like Matcha, you should definitely try it! 😋
And since we were in the area, we decided to go to Ninennzaka Yasak Chaya Starbucks. ☕
It is in a traditional house and therefore has a different ambiance than the usual shops. Nevertheless, we were a little disappointed, because many videos give the impression that everything inside is equipped with tatami mats, which is only half the case. Unfortunately, we couldn't get a tatami place, which is why our visit to Starbucks was not as spectacular as expected.
It was a nice day and I enjoyed how the day developed and what happened to our plan to only visit plum blossoms. I look forward to more such days! 🙈
次回まで! Jikai made! See you next time! 💕
